About Me

My name is David Broome, I make music under the name "Gawshock"

Gawshock started as a solo recording project in 2021- I got some basic gear during the COVID lockdown and started teaching myself how to record/mix. The project remains a solo-mission still, but I now have the amazing privilege of being able to play songs live thanks to the help of my very talented dear friends: Hill Duggan, Tyler Redman, and Peyton Watts. Peyton has a solo project of his own called Taygaloo Cat, which is one of my favorite current bands (no bias). I sometimes get to help him play his songs live too :)

In my day job, I work as an Engineer supporting the NASA Space Launch System, which is the rocket built to send humans back to the moon for the first time since the end of the Apollo missions. I do structural loads and dynamics analysis, running computer simulations and developing tools to predict the various forces on the rocket during all phases of prelaunch, liftoff, and flight.

I also like to stay active, and in my free time away from work and music I'm usually spending time lifting weights or swimming.
